Yesterday Once More

Posted by: paceek on: May 24, 2006

Well, I actually have nothing specific to rant about today. Took a day off of blogging yesterday. Talking bout yesterday, I finally finished off my data mining task given by my boss. Had "megi goreng kosong" for lunch yesterday. Kind of going on some budget nowadays. Well, approximately until the day my next scholar money banks-in. And yes, last night I almost had a heart-attack. When I turned-on my pc after arriving home, my D:\ drive was gone, missing, unallocated. Man, I'm quite pissed-off. All my work were in there. Internship weekly report, final internship report, some design, and not to forget my collections of almost 150 movies. Luckily Jaqas reminded me about the fixmbr thingy. Thanks alot for the reminder Jaqas.

Things goes quite well as far as today i think.

Owh wait. I do have something to ask. One thing that I want to ask here to the readers is that about the usage of words in our daily life. Well, concerning muslim. Yup. I'm a muslim. But I'm not a terrorists. I hated labels. I hated when so many people labeled muslims as terrorists. But that's not the point I want to talk. All these years, I've heard things about the words we use. Recently, I got this personal message in Y! Messenger that goes like

In Hebrew, the word akum means animals, bla bla bla, so we all can stop using the word akum in our conversation, instead, use salam or better, use assalamualaikum warahmatullahiwabarakatuh.

I'm not denying that the use of salam and assalamualaikum is good, because I'm a muslim. And I do know that as a muslim, we are encouraged not to follow the acts of the non-beleivers. But for god sake, it's just a word. Words can be different between cultures. And furthermore, the word akum is only used in cyberspace i presumed. And what does akum represent in our chat session? Assalamualaikum. Not animal. Heck i don't want to greet all of u with animals. And I presume that all of you know that fact that akum is meant for assalamualaikum. Same thing a few years back, when the pokemon name issue is raised. Pikachu means Little devil or something like that. I gladly welcome anyone to provide me the meaning of each pokemon name that represent bad thing. And as far as i watched the cartoon, never ever i saw the character preaches us to change religion. Only because the name, we must stop watching that show. We are provided by god a great brain. Used that to make proper reasoning.

The thing is that, it's like telling those people in Indonesia to stop using butuh because in malay language that word mean cock and is widely used to swear. The word butuh in Indonesia actually means "need". Same goes to a village named Fucking is Austria. Why don't you ask them to change their village name? Fucking is such a bad word. There's a lot more then akum that we have to change if we really want to. Ask all of them to stop swearing, with the words that they really understand. Instead of changing the word that they used, that to them, means good thing. And, as far as I know. The Jew didn't even teach us to use the word akum. And furthermore, i don't use that word in actual conversation. Please teach me if i'm wrong. And maybe i'll adopt salam in my chat session, and start using akum when swearing.

Hmm..

Megi Goreng Kosong. It’s been a long time since i had that. I’m on a strict diet too. Can you believe that I ate only bread for lunch, me of all the people. Lol. Kinda sucks but only a month to go, so just bear with it. Many types of bread to choose from, so there’ll be one type of bread for each day. Heh.

I’ve once had a near-death experience too, when my newly bought external hardisk suddenly have nothing in it. Fuck. All of my morning musume collections gone. After unplugging all stuff and replugging it, it still doesnt work. All because my fucking laptop doesnt have enough power for all the usb devices. I realized that I cannot charge my psp using the usb port. That will make my ext hardisk “power-less”. Damn it.

U just need to remember who forwarded to you that message. Lucklily, noone forwarded me that. Or else, i’ll remember their name, and when they pm me and first thing they said is ‘akum’, they will regret that they forwarded me that message.

Heh.

Dulu ustat aku pernah cakap, syirik tu ada dua, syirik kecil dan syrik besar. Syirik besar adalah menyekutukan Allah secara terang-terangan. Syirik kecil lak perkara yang kita katakan, yang kita lakukan, yang kita ‘hati’kan, walaupun kita tak bermaksud. Tapi itulah dia syirik kecil. Cara halus yang diguna musyrikin untuk merayap dalam hati umat kita. Nanti kalau aku rajin, aku check balik pasal syirik kecil syirik besar ni. Secara terang-terangan, of course laa kartun tuh tadek suh sembah matahari ke apa ke. Tapi seperti aku cakap, secara halus. Dan ingat, kata kata itu doa.

About the akum thing. Aku tak bother sangat pasal definisi dia in Hebrew. Tapi base on apa aku pernah baca, ada ulama or mufti (aku pon tak berapa ingat siapa) cakap, using akum tak wajib dijawab+tak dapat pahala pun. So it’s better if you intend of using assalamualaikum. But if you just meant to greet someone thru the webworld, well, a Hi or Hello is enough, if you don’t intend to get pahala for free :D .

aku pun x hirau sgt pasal bahse chatting nih.. tapi concern aku adelah pada percakapan salam tu sendiri..

tolong la jgn bagi salam kt kawan2 “semekom” or anything yg bunyik2 mcm salam yg sempurna…

n yg tukang jawab pun…. jawab la dgn perfect

wa’alaikumussalam..

bukan “komsalam”

=p
